peibe
Never thought of using a tampon calliech. Interesting I use a piece of flannel cloth to wipe ears
~Archie~
Leo ear cleaner has been DISCONTINUED! ;) And after talking with a vet the other day, I believe Natur-Oat has been as well!! :(
Staffyluv
Yep Warls, we have been using this for Ollie for years. We dilute 1:30 Malaseb:Water. He has rarely had a problem with itchy anything since we started using Malaseb. We also use the same dilution to wash his feet when they spray stuff at the park and his feet get a bit red. kamuzz
My vet gave the dilution as 1:34 Maleseb:Water. Love the tampon idea calliech! Think that collectively DOLers are a creative force to be reckoned with.
spoiltlabs
Malaseb also has a residual effect so can be done at less frequent intervals than Leos etc.
The Spotted Devil
I use Epi-otic as a general ear cleaner....not routine though as you get rid of the good bugs too if you use it too often. Cleared it up within 24 hours, although I'm sure it wasn't particularly serious.
Sheridan
I'm using Ilium Oticlean that I got from the vets. Seems to be okay, so far.
chalkeroochy
How much Malaseb solution would you put in each ear for a Jack Russell ?
Rappie
As a general rule, I would dribble enough solution in so that you can see it in the ear canal. Massage well, then clean the floaties away or let the dog shake them out.

Rappie
Yes it is safe for use in cats. Whether or not cleaning ears of cats is "safe" really depends on your cat
peigirl
Malaseb as ear cleaner = amazing I have been using Epi-otic with Raf's ears since he was a pup. He has always hated it, ran away when he saw me coming plus it seemed to result in more wax in ears a day or two after cleaning. Not only is he non-plused by the Malaseb but his ears are fantastic a few days later. Wish I had heard of this sooner!
