*Avanti*
I'm posting this for a friend and a group of people who helped and loved this boy. Ben spent most of his life employed as a car yard guard dog. His wages were dog food and the occasional pat by a prospective car buyer and the staff of the car yard. When he was about ten he developed cancer in his nose and was going to be pts by the car yard owners because he was no longer useful as a guard dog. By luck and chance, since months ago, he was taken in to rescue (thankyou to all who made it possible) and he found his way to a home where he was very well loved and cared for. At this stage his cancer was well advanced but his health improved anyway because he got so much love and he deserved it. But yesterday Ben lost the battle with cancer and died in his new mum of six month's arms . He spent a few weeks in foster care before he went to his forever home. What a lonely dog he had been. It was sad, because in the cold of winter he wanted to sit on the cold kitchen floor and not come into the warm heater side. He loved to stare through the cyclone fence, it was all he knew. But given his harsh and empty conditions this boy never lost his natural nature. That nature was of a beautiful boy who knew no viciousness. I want to post about Ben/Boss and (his new mum called him Boss) and give him a tribute. Humble fella he was. He only had a real home for a short while but time doesn't seem to measure love. I also want to send a special message to the lovely lady who gave him his first and only real home. She did everything possible to give him the best hope and made his last days happy ones. RIP Boss Edited to ad pic Edited April 19, 2007 by WhiteEagle
Rottshowgirl
Poor Boss That is a lovely tribute White Eagle. Thank you to everyone who helped him, I hope he found peace in his last six months in the arms of a family who truly loved him. What big hearts they must have, taking on a sick elderly dog! Run free at the Bridge Boss, enjoy the freedom
carlibud
RIP Boss. I too have a guard dog, a rehome, a GSD 7 years old, Buddy, and I get really sad when I think of how lovable he is, and how much of a loner he is, and how much he loves his ears rubbed, and how scared of storms he his but I know that no matter how much time he has left, he loves us without any doubt, Hope your friend realises how special she is to have given him a good life for the time he had left
