Danois
Good Evening Angus is now 18 weeks old and seems to be going through some teething - is it normal to have a bit of bleeding as the new teeth come through? I cannot really tell in the mouth as he has dark gums and the jowls however there are blood spots on the stringray toy I got him today which he has been chewing. Thanks! SwaY
yeah it's normal. As The new tooth is pushing the old one out, there is pressure on the gums and teeth. Sometimes you may get blood, other times not. Like babies they chew to relieve the pressure, pain and discomfort they are experiancing. Because the new tooth hasn't quite filled the old tooth spot, a little soft part of the hole maybe exposed. In a few days the tooth replaces this. Danois
Thanks swaY - I think he has been chewing a lot more in the last week - the main object of his attention is the training pee pads which is down while I am at work! Any question - do you walk Sway on a short lead or a longer one? I have just switched to a short one with a padded collar as he is being a bit headstrong with the leaping pounce - mind you the puppy trainer is here for a session tomorrow and that it on top of the list! SwaY
Iv'e tried a few with Sway, at the moment our main one is a martingale collar, with a short lead. I find i have better control with a short one, as she has such a reach when she pounces on people. And yes that means all of you her stir her up
Snap
I didn't want to start a new topic on this so I hope you don't mind if I ask another question MyCatMilo. Is it normal to get staining around the mouth during teething? Ollie's white fur around his mouth is turning slightly brown lately and he is about 19 weeks old. SwaY
I would say yes, but im no expert. Hormonal changes are happening when teething, ears may suddenly sit up, white sometimes turn orange/rust in colour. May like different foods, get a rash, high temp, grumpy, want more cuddles then normal. Everyone will experiance something different. Dogs are so close to human babies it's not funny.
