indi_dog
Probably a dumb question! I am unfortunately am rostered to work on a Saturday and the problem is that it is the same day that obedience training is on I also go to training on Wednesday nights, but it's just one big class comprising of members of different classes (so no chance of promotion). There is another club nearby which trains on a Sunday which would be perfect, but is it naughty to join two different clubs at the same time???
Kavik
I know lots of people that are members of two or more clubs, so I don't think it is a problem.
Purpley
I am a member of 3 - so is Shoemonster. I get different things out of the different clubs, and find it beneficial.
indi_dog
I was worried that I might be "cheating" on the other club
Staff'n'Toller
I think a fair few people do it these days. I don't see why you and your dog should miss out if you find another club that offers different things. Mel.
dogdude
You should never rely on knowledge gained form one source. Listen to everyone and use what you consider that makes sense.
whatevah
I think it is good to train at different clubs. The dog gets used to different people and different dogs which can come in handy at different clubs. The dogs learns to work in different places. Also different vibes. I train at one club which is all off lead and dogs are socialised off lead before class starts and at a different club where they don't socialise and are kept on lead the whole time. poodlefan
As long as the two clubs' training methods are compatible, I can't see why it would be a problem. They shouldn't be like cults.
indi_dog
OK I don't feel quite so guilty now An evil obedience club cult - that sounds like an interesting idea  CTD - Indi says thankyou for cuddling her today
Lablover
Indi dog, HINT time LOL. If either of the two clubs have attendees who compete in trials, check out the trainers, whose dogs look good. Try to join in those trainers classes. If you see particular trainers who dogs do not perform consistently and with style, dodge them. If warranted try to have a few private lessons with a great trainer. Whatever you do, do not bore your dog. Have time out, sit down with your dog, as normally classes are halted during question time. Have fun.
whatevah
I love Indi's physique!!! That was exactly what I was looking for when selecting Tia. Hopefully Tia turns out as nice looking.
Tapferhund
Be a member of as many clubs as you want to ! I am a member of a few and it is great!
indi_dog
I love Indi's physique!!! That was exactly what I was looking for when selecting Tia. Hopefully Tia turns out as nice looking. Funny thing is her breeder thought she was going to be big and boofy! She just kind of stopped growing - I can pick her up in both arms and carry her around comfortably (and she's about 18 months old now). Tia doesn't have that boofy look about her, she looks pretty long and lean to me (like what I imagine a working Border Collie type to look like)
shoemonster
Yep as Suz said I'm a member of 3 clubs I get lots of good stuff from each pf them, and I don't get as bored or irritated by any of them as I always have somewhere else to turn! J...
I'm a member with two clubs, mostly for agility than obedience, but I do obedience with one club and not the other. There's no reason why I couldn't do obedience at the second club though :D
Tassie
I'm a member of 3 clubs, though only train at 2. I train one dog in obedience at one club in the morning, then teach a puppy class and train agility with my other dog at the other club in the afternoon. Just convenient for me, and I like a lot of things about both those clubs. IMHO, your loyalties lie to yourself and the dog/s first.
