leopuppy04
So were you guys pleased with your dogs? Tia was a little trooper and Indi looked great too! I was SO impressed with Kinta - Jules the 'Kelpie lady' came up to me as I was putting K away in the car and told me that I should 'give everything else up and just do herding' .... LOL - she was really impressed  I was a little dissapointed with Leo's second run.... i'm kinda hoping that he still has the instinct, but I was dissapointed with the way he shut down like that..... I dunno what caused it... perhaps he had burnt out from too much playing/ socialising and I did do a bit of obedience with him.... who knows/??? indi_dog
Indi has never been in with the sheep before (she has seen kelpies working before though), so I think she went OK. She couldn't settle down after her second run though, she was jumping and yelping and barking whenever she saw another dog in with the sheep  She REALLY wanted to get back in there again. It was great seeing everyone elses dogs get in there and have a go, Tia was having a great time, and it was good to meet you and your crew leopuppy (even if Indi did act like a cow towards poor Leo ) leopuppy, I noticed some of the dogs got a bit tired during their second run and hung around the gate, so maybe Leo was feeling a bit tired too? The sun was quite warm too.

Yeah - I think it was him being a little tired, and of course, he has done a lot of obedience and stuff too, so since I wasn't telling him what to do he got a tad confused.... we'll see how he goes next time! He was really good the first time (well, by his level!)! It's so good to finally meet DOL people! LOL!

indi_dog
Great pics  Indi has crashed in the hallway, those sheepies really wore her out! Kate did such a great job with the dogs and sheep too I loved how they followed her around when she said BAAAAAAA
whatevah
How was the lady that fell over the sheep. Yesterday at the seminar they told us not to keep looking at our dogs or else we would be what is called a "Dog Pervert". Was interesting today, at one stage Tia split the sheep and I could see her watching 3 sheep and then quickly looking at the other sheep as well. The little blue merle Aussie pup did really well and Kinta showed real talent.
leopuppy04
Yeah Kate was excellent! Really easy to talk to and get pointers too :D! Yeah - Jezza was excellent. It's really cool to see these 'show ponies' still able to hold down their instinct. I wish Jezza was able to stay for the 2nd round though Jules - can I steal those piccies for cross posting? They are excellent! I love the last one of Tia too! Edited March 11, 2007 by leopuppy04

whatevah
Here is a clip of Tia herding. She goes crazy at the start and then settles down, once I start to get an idea on what I am supposed to be doing. I picked my dog up at the end because I was so happy with her. Going to do the herding instinct test in May in the current gazette.
