Yes, looks like it in this video, but not in some of the others that I watched of this dog, where she runs on by. It may be that she was just reinforcing in the above run. I think there are faster contacts around, but I just liked this run as I thought the dog was very efficient & obviously knows his job...and the weave entry is to die for.

Nice run!

Kaos I think at the moment is handler position dependent with our contact training exercise  although getting better - looking forward to an agility meet with you guys so you can show me what I 'm doing wrong

feralpup you may have accidentally been trying to download the full version rather than the player; the player is free.

tollers you may need to update your version.

Edit: re contacts, I'm yet to practice the contact proofing we learned from Rhonda Carter; I'm going to set it up as soon as I am able to. I'll talk to Liz Y. about doing it at Parra.

Got it at last, don't know how....................What a fantastic run - do you happen to know what level this team was running in Vicki. Wow I have a lot of work to do with the weaves, fantastic entry and the first time I have seen anyone actually call their dog through the weaves in competition. We have just started training the Rhonda Carter method of contact proofing, I think it is going quite well..

Got it! Found the "free version" icon hidden in the top right hand corner....

Fantastic!! Loved the way the handler barely moved on the course, very very fast dog. Gives me something to aspire to handling wise, Darcy is quick and I don't have a hope in hell of keeping up with her so am starting to work on some distance handling. Need to start working on my contacts though :D

Thanks for sharing Vickie! Will put that one in my favourites

I think it is a Masters Standard run. The clip is from 2005, so am not really sure, but they are certainly running in Masters now. I have seen them run other courses where they did not do so well.

It's funny how the more times you watch a clip the more things you notice. I can see lots of things in this clip that I like & aspire to & a couple of things that I don't like or aspire to. The more I watch it, the more I see.

It might be fun to put up clips every now & then & discuss them. It's a good learning process & makes for a healthy, constructive discussion.

I love Ronda's contact method. It is certainly working for us. Next we will have to show our own videos :scold: .

It's a Masters run - if you click on the link with the dog's name (think it was Kip) then you get a link to a whole list of runs you can watch from the same dog with the details of what class the run was from.

But having said that, I can't download it either at home or at work BOO HOO !

I think this would be a very good idea. First I need to learn how to put up clips - got no idea. :scold:

But, talking about great contacts - I have been teaching my dog 2o2o contacts except for the seesaw, which I teach 4 on. My reasoning is that she is quite a light dog and I do not want to take any chances with the seesaw kicking back on her. This hasn't happened by the way, I am maybe being a bit over cautious. What do others think about this? Am I just adding a level of confusion? Would be interested in your thoughts.

I teach the same as you, 2 on 2 off for all contacts except the see saw.

One dog would react very badly if he did a 1 on 3 off by accident in the training stage and quite possibly never do well on it again. The other would react but not as badly and its not a chance i want too take.

Personally i train them so they arent allowed off until it has stopped completely. No problems so far.

IMO i dont think the dog will get confused as this is the only piece of equipment that moves while they are on it, so they would realise its a different activity all together, which is how i train it. I am lucky as both my dogs are of a weight were they have too touch the contact too actually make the see saw go down LOL
