Orson has never had that much feathering. Oi can have but I've cut most of it off !!!! :) But then, they're not show Cockers :)

They haven't been done for about 4 - 5 weeks now.

This is a HUGE help. Thanks Toohey and KW! I can see the lines quite clearly. I like the short legs, it looks smart. If I grow skirts like that I won't have to sweep the wooden floor anymore! Aha!

Good point about the grass seed catching area.

Thanks, Toohey. i'll print this all out in colour at work. Thank you!

Last one cos I like the look on his face. (His foot is not like that naturally)

Clipping is just one part of it. The thinners are used to blend in the edges where the feathering starts, then straight scissors to trim the feet. I use clippers and thinners on his face and head too.

Hope that helps.

Leo has gone for his nap now :D

I've just attacked my girls with a #10 blade all over. V short now, but incredibly adorable when it starts to grow back with soft, short waves.

We walk ours through long grass fairly regularly so I prefer to keep them shorter as it is easier to find seeds.

Poor darling were giant fluff balls though until this weekend!

I've only got this one from a couple of years backk. I let leo's coat grow out and used a coat king on it for a few months. This is the result.

It is debulked a lot, but still unruly and wayward.

I went back to clipping him.

Well I have used your guidelines and expertise, Toohey to clip Maverick and Gomez. Their fur has always been clipped very, very short, so this is the foundation to the grooming style you and more to the point, LEO, modelled on page 2. You won't be able to see what I have done, the feathering is more like 'downing' there is so little there.

I am going to take a shower and get all this itchy fur off me and out of my nose. I'll be back later in day to post piccies.
