whatevah
Hi, I think you did the best thing in sending Cher back. I could not have an animal around that killed one of my animals. I know how you feel in that Berryl my sheep was savaged by two Akita's, and she was left still alive. She was disembowed. It is an image in my mind that I will never forget. I was very lucky that my daughter did not see it. I asked her why she was not upset over the sheep and she said because she did not see it. You are very lucky your daughter did not see it, because the image would stay with her for a long time. I have a tonkinese cat, who is like a dog, she follows me everywhere and sits on my lap. I couldn;t stand it if something happened to her.

sa
Bummer Sad outcome for sure... Hope your kids are ok. Awful situation ;) Always concerns me that many cats can become complacent, unfortunately trusting all dogs...my older Siamese very blaise about dogs altho this calls their bluff too, as he could get 6 shots to the eyes in a Ninja nanosecond Hope things get better for you and your clan Kind regards Sue Edited April 30, 2004 by sa

sa
In hindsight do we think too much like humans and not animals? Do we expect too much from animals with prey drive? ie cats not to attack mice and dogs not to attack kittens when newly introduced? I realise it is perhaps not appropriate time or place to say but its worth a thought ... Anything to prevent these sad tragic results ...
Ciara
sa: It was my fault, not Cher's, my fault for not being more careful. Needless to say Cher is about to go to the best home she could possibly ask for. A huge thanks to the person (you know who you are) who found her a home where she will get to do great things and get more attention than I found I was able to give her. Edited to add: perhaps you could have started a new thread to discuss your topic, my daughter reads this thread to help comfort her about Tiger, and no, it wasn't appropriate to post in here. (yes, I have an intelligent 5yo that reads fluently) Anyone who has questions regarding the situation that occured with the kitten, you can email me and ask away.. just not in this thread please. sa
Sorry had spoken to Chers original owner, confused at her possibly being PTS, when as you say very much human error? I do not feel bad about posting my thoughts here on an open forum. I do however feel sad for your lovely children and hope that you all overcome recent tragic events as best as you all can... Let me know if I can help in any way Regards Sue
Ciara
Possibly being put to sleep? I wouldn't have put Cher to sleep, perhaps ask Caroline what I did say... *edited* Btw, Sue, I spoke to Caroline about your reply to me in this thread. cav_crazy
salli- i understand you returning cher I went to my friends mums funeral today ( her mum was like an aunty to me coz i had grown up with them from the day i was born) .... I heard Annes (the mums) favourite song today and absolutely broke down remembering anne... anne as only 39 in March and has 4 beautiful children... All whom she loved so much and gave everything she could... She was the nicest person and never ever let us lose hope or drift away from our dreams... sa
All the best Salli No prob with who you spoke to Glad the dog survived....after all Didnt you mention you were thinking of PTS, thats why she was picked up ASAP? Im a bit perplexed at how many new dogs to peoples households get PTS for even chasing the cat? Thought it would come naturally eg dogs chase cats.. cats chase mice unless they are socialised and gradually habituated, that is all? With respect to you ...(altho youve always said what you think re many subjects)...not posting re topic again Sincere Kind regards Sue
