kiahzen
I was wondering does a puppy always end up asking to go to the toilet..... Our 6 yo Rotty has always asked to go to the toilet.... she will come in and star at you and then wlak back a little and just sort of huff at you until you come and let her out... If you are in bed she nudges you or makes a noise to wake you up so that you know that she needs to go out.... My question is really in relation to my 4 mo rotty male puppy... He is great going to the toilet when he wants to when the back door is open and it is 95% of the time When the door is closed (usually my OH closes it without thinking) he usually now just goes on the rug near the back door so i can see he has really tried to go to the right place but hasn't been able to get out there.... Do they learn to eventually ask to go out there or is our older dog just really good....?? What makes them start to ask to go out for a wee

BeeB
Rocky knocks on the screen door, but he abuses this system sometimes. When someone comes to open the door he quickly runs to the fridge which is right near the door and looks for a treat. Very sneaky!
OMD²
Oscar is almost 16 weeks old now.. He looks at me lol then I will say what? and he will start to walk away but with his head towards me.. So I then get up and he will bolt to the back door.. but always making sure I'm coming
kiahzen
Hmmmm....... So he might get there yet.... I thought that they usually teach themself to ask to go and its not something that i have to try and do as i wouldnt know where to start.... He was very slow at the toilet training so i guess that this might take a little longer with him to catch on....
sas
You may like to looking into teaching your puppy to ring a bell if it wants to go out....it's training program you'll find if you Google it, I think it's on the K9 Force website too. I probably wouldn't be expecting a 4 month old to be actively asking you to let it out if the door is closed....some puppies take longer to do these things....maturity.
