Yes, I join you with the itchy dog problem. My maltese has suffered dearly already this summer, with biting and scratching. I too used Frontline Plus, which used to work on her, but even re-applying it within the 4 wk period didn't work. I looked at one of the Ads here and one of the products was Emu Oil. So I read what it does and I bought the small bottle for $11 and it really works. So try some Emu Oil.

Sounds like a food allergy to me..... we have a dog who was like it......

We went to some-one who takes a hair from the dog and analyses it, she told us what Boy ( yes that is his pet name.. ) is allergic to

Yes, I know it sounds like mumbo-jumbo..... I only went along to keep Pam quiet, but her findings sounded right and since adopting her reccomendations Boy has improved out of sight.

BTW my schooling was in Physics and I am an Electronics Tech so I look at results.......

Feel free to PM me if you want to know more......

Yes I also had a very itchy dog, and my vet told me its common, probably allergic to something, and was given a couple of injections also anti-biotics.......now a lady who has a lot of knowledge with dogs told me to completely stop feeding her, her normal diet, which was mainly chicken....wings, carcus and natural foods. So I put her on nutro, and she is looking beautiful BUT still scratching. My next try is going to be Permoxin, to see if it is a flea problem or not........have always used frontline, and until I read this thread didn't realise it no longer works, thats why I didn't think it could be possible for her to have fleas.

Now if the permoxin doesn't work my next move is going to be Malaseb.

Will let you know how it goes.....I reckon one or the other has to work.

Dare I mention using the old ACV. It may stop the itching make your dog less palatable to fleas and ticks clear up skin problems and the list goes on. ACV = Apple Cider Vinegar. Good for us humans too !!

Chris

Hi chris, do you mind telling me have you had any experience with ACV for itchy dog, also how to use it?

Thanks for that!
