Ruffles
perhaps if he felt he couldnt control his bodily functions he didnt want to soil his bed, hence sleeping in the dirt? Just a thought I hope he gets better soon

Fit for a King
Next time instead of throwing the sick dog back outside because his mate was whining consider bringing them both in - even if you have to crate them side by side.....animals IMO heal faster when they are near their humans..... Fit for a King
He may well be loved and treasured but if he's sick staying outside and lying in the dirt may not be the best way to rehab him....
Gemelo
when did Sammy force him to lay in the dirt? I think that was the dogs choice...

peibe
He may well be loved and treasured but if he's sick staying outside and lying in the dirt may not be the best way to rehab him.... One reason people do not stay on DOL and post about the real things that are going on with their dogs is because people like you believe all things are black and white and judge Sam (the dog) was sick, alot of dogs I know will do unusual things when they are sick and believe it or not, laying in the dirt is one of them
Fit for a King
And like children they don't always do what is best for them.......that's where we are supposed to be the adults and step in.....but hey if you want to keep him like that and you're happy who the hell cares?
