Rascalmyshadow Posted December 13, 2006 Share Posted December 13, 2006 I really need to find as many people with bombproof dogs to allow my standard poodle to play with, he is starting to become timid and barky around unfamiliar dogs and people. I take him out walking , to the park and to work but we just don't run into many dogs. Training classes are not an option at the moment. My mini poodle's a bit stand-offish with people (b4 he gets to know them) but very laid-back with other dogs: His best mate at the local dog off-leash beach is a big boofy GSP. Training classes are not an option because I am due to have a baby in 7.5 weeks, money is now very tight and I am physically exhausted by the time I run around after my 2.5 year old, feed and exercise the four dogs and I am still also working grooming dogs. We did have a one on one class with a Delta instructor and once I am over having the baby we will be going to ADT for group lessons but I need to do something now to stop him ending up like my other standard (not all my fault). Akitaowner Posted December 13, 2006 Share Posted December 13, 2006 thx for the explaination - i can understand how difficult thing would be!! if u were in sydney my boy loves the littlies too - i used to foster JRT! maybe you could ask at the vet - our local has puppy socialisation where basically the owners sit on chairs around the edge and the puppies play etc. Could someone else take pup to some obedience classes? they arent too expensive (mine is $6 a week) but in the city they used to be $3? just some thoughts ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Let me know if this sunday is OK for you If you know where KCC Park is we can meet there, let them run around together if they fall in love :p just to let you know mine is not desexed but yours being a male shouldnt be an issue. Sunday is good but this Sunday would have to be after lunch. I definately wouldn't be going out in the heat being pregnant I am always feeling hot.
