Video Of Bondi Doing Some Heelwork

I think you need to put up a routine in Australia of someone, who has just barely passed, then you can see a really good routine and a not so good but passable. Some people after seeing that fantastic boxer would be afraid to enter. I couldn't understand what the steward was saying it sounded like "furball". That boxer was fantastic.

I can accomodate by showing a really good one (IMHO). Not a boxer but in Australia.

CDX Rusky

Erika with Jazz is from Perth.

Dogs pedigree name and titles are displayed in the video description.

Of course it is  also Desi and Janice on the figure of 8. I looked and thought, gee I recognise that dog, then saw the stewards. It was Western classic this year... beautiful dog.

Bondi's going really well  . I also got picked up on adjusting myself to the dogs position when we come to a halt, I was stepping back or forward in line with the dog. I think it's a common mistake.

IMO the GSD is in perfect heel position all the time, the dobe is out in front alot & crowds the handler on a few occasions.

The boxer does give focus but then its about a 20 second routine with nothing apart from a halt in it. And she's using food. Whereas the GSD is doing signal exercise (signals only) in UD in a trial & goes for over 2 minutes.

Also depends on whether you like your dogs head screwed around so that it's looking at your face or not - personally I prefer the attention that the GSD is giving as its looking directly at the area that the signals come from - thigh/hips/stomach area. Looks alot more natural (although the handlers hand position doesnt :) ). Different strokes for differet folks ;) .

All very nice heeling work outs, if you had any of those in your ring, as a judge you would have to be happy  :D .

i agree mrd the dobe is swinging our his rear so therfore not paralell to the handler

he gsd is doign part of the top dog routing he is a lovely dog to watch work down here most of the top trial dogs dont hold there heads up looking at the handler they tend to prefer looking ahead and at the handler its the style.

I also agree he boxer has to do nothing and has his reward right there all th time a friend of mine gained her cd here with her borzoi averaging 180's and yet in the states when she trialled there he was in the 190's she said the heeling is like a warmup up back and thast over no stands downs or left about turns it goes for under a minute wheres here heeling patterns go up to three wth some judges

Because we haveto keep stopping and staring for all the rops etc its much harder to keep mmentum and rhythm and they have the figure eight seperate so you can play inbetween i like that i look at that routine and wish i lived over there

Mary Ray told us at the seminar that when they trial they are allowed to talk to the dog during the routine and said she would have problems not being able to talk to the dog at the earlier levels.

Here is Moses in CCD -

our very first trial.

Here he is in CD -

Here he is at Kintala club where we can reward in the ring once exercise finished notice the big difference between CD and this one. In CD he was getting ringwise. Notice the big difference in me between CD and Kintala one. At the kintala club I have a big ridiculous smile on my face. LOL
