Arcana
Before I start I just want to say thank you to all those who helped me out on my last question about backchatting in regards to our Border Collie puppy, Baci. But another couple of questions have popped up. 1. What do you think is the best way to lead train your puppy to walk nicely beside you? Baci walks quite nicely at home but as soon as you take her out to the outside world it is simply too exciting, she really really pulls and I have to get this under control being none too tall as this is a worry. 2. Baci has started to bark at birds and people. Is there a way to teach your puppy to be quiet after a few barks so the neighbours don't become aggravated? 3. What is the best way to teach your puppy to come to you when they bolt out of the door? Thank you for all your help in advance.
poodlefan
I'll make my advice short: Tell us where you live. That will help locals point you in the direction of a good, positive motivational dog training club. You'll get all the help you've asked for, and more there. BCs are active, very intelligent dogs that need plenty of mental and physical stimulation - formal training will help with this and help you train your puppy into an obedient, happy dog.
