kplim2
3 months my shih tzu puppy eat too much portion size by age?
ShesaLikeableBiBear
Surely your breeder gave you a puppy information booklet when you purchased your puppy, in that it should give you the correct amount to feed. We give our new puppy owners a bag of food as well with the correct quantities to feed and instructions of how often to feed. Suggest you call the breeder. t-time
I would feed a 3 month old small breed puppy 3 - 5 times a day It is not likely that he/she would be a greedy pig (ShihTzus are not normally greedy) so let your puppy eat as much or as little as he/she wants. As long as you have a little bit fat covering all the ribs, that's ok at this age If you can feel all the ribs, the pup is a bit skinny. If you tell us what you are feeding your puppy and how much, we might be able to give you more help Also, if you bought this puppy from a pet shop or from a breeder who did not care enough to give you diet advice, I would strongly suggest you take the puppy to a vet for a full check up. Your puppy will also need treatment for intestinal worms and possibly fleas. The vet will be able to show you what to feed your puppy as well Good luck! (And make sure you give us an update )
