The Dog Listener Methods

I think the women was asking how to deal with a timid dog that she owned, that was when the bit with the chair happened. The women then asked if she should continue to take her dog for walks even if the dog was frightened and Jan got a wwweeeee bit cranky then! Apparently while going through the bonding procedure the dog is not to be taken out anywhere!

If the dog is scared it needs gently and slowly desensitising, not walked out where it is afraid. It took me a couple of weeks to get my last rescue out of the driveway, soon as she showed fear we turned around, it got better and better till she was a joy both on and off lead, loved to run with other dogs but before would roll on her side and pee at the sight of them... and cry.

I am thinking of getting the DVD to show to my OH - does anyone know if it is exactly the same as the book????

I have watched the DVD, it is very similar to the book but I wish she was as entertaining as in her seminar. The son does a bit too, it is worth watching... will pm you with more info.

In her book it doesn't say the dog shouldn't be taken anywhere.
