Dog Hydration Packs

Currently looking at good ways to carry extra water for the dogs on long walks, hikes etc etc...

Looking at either backpacks for the dogs which includes a bladder or two, such as...

EQRW06.jpg from SitStay.com This is currently my fav...lol.

But also considering perhaps those collaspable bottles that can be popped into a normal dog back pack as well as the one i will carry. Perhaps extra bladders?

Anyway...any extra ideas? Anyone else out there do long walks etc and has worked out a suitable way of keeping all involved hydrated?

My old boy Harm used to happily wear his backpack...and carry bits and pieces but we never went on particularly long walks, or at least where there weren't taps along the way etc. So kinda curious....did a google search and can't find the dog hydration packs in Aus...so currently looking at all sorts of options.

ETA - wow Check these out! - for those dogs who have access to snow :D K9 Overcoat

Dammit KK - why didn't you tell me this at LC last time? Day after I bought a WHOLE HEAP of RuffWear (my fave doggy brand) from my fave website. It's a few dollars cheaper than the one you found, shipping was supposed to be $41.40 and I only paid $30 US for 1 Webmaster Harness (which is what is under the palasades pack), 1 set of Grip Tex Bark n Boots, 1 K9 Float Coat (for Rocky - Molly already has one), & 1 Mt Bachelor Pad (right size for the sof-krate!)

LUCKILY for you, if you wanted to get it, I need to get Molly a Webmaster Harness, and some Boots also, but wanted to check on size first. So if you wanted to get that particular one, tell me, because after I receive my order for Rocky's stuff this week, I'll be ordering Molly's stuff, and that would save us one postage (probably approx $25US for all that).

Cool!!! Do you buy off the Ruffwear website? or another one?? *tempted tempted* Let me know when you are closer to ordering and i'll let you know :D :p

Nope another one - was almost going to be a ruffwear distributor in Oz, but was too slow - they have someone in Perth who has them, but I think it actualy works out cheaper to buy from this other website in the US - Including the postage LOL.

I'll be ordering this week - they actually get their Ruffwear in each Friday, so it gets posted on their Friday, usually take a bit over 1 week to get to Oz, clear thru customs etc. So I'll prolly order this coming Friday - if you want me to put an order in, you can just pay me when I see you next?

want me to pm you the addy of the website I buy from?

Yeah I kinda already knew that your dogs are spoilt. That's why I haven't told my 2 pupsters what your boys get - they'd wanna go live with Aunty KK then :p

Did you get my pm? Am seeing if another DOLer wants to put in an order with us too?

On another note, got those Collars/Leads which I bought especially for Lure Coursing. Tried them on both dogs, and OH actually said "Gee those leads would be excellent for Obedience wouldn't they?" So I actually got approval of my purchase! :D

Yeah MUCH cheaper to buy straight from US, than from this Aussie mob, then pay whatever their postage on top.

They're a very nice product though. Yours is sitting here in the box in the computer room KK.

BTW - you're actually saving over $65AUD + postage KK - that includes your 1/3 $40 postage from the US, then there's the toy you requested - which one was yours? Hammerhead, I'm assuming?

Sheesh - I didn't really check prices - have just seen these guys at the pet expo. Post your US page, I'll bookmark it as well! I get my sledding harness etc from Xpress Outfitters, they import US sledding gear, they may want a peice of the action and they price their gear very resonably.

Well...It looks a lil funny on Sabe only because i set its size for Bronx and couldn't be bothered changing it...lol...however i'm thinking Sabe would look lovely in a red one...perhaps in the new year...lol.

Bronx isn't 100% convinced...

Sabe couldn't care less once he decided he couldn't eat it - tho he wasn't as helpful when i was trying to put it on as Bronx was...

Awww... they both look lovely in the hydration backpack - wonder how they'll go WITH WATER in it? It'd sound a bit different with water swishing round in it!

So does this mean I have to buy some more ruffwear gear?

hmmmm... what toy will my doggy's need in the new year? Only thing is dunno if I'll have any money then, as have to build up my kitty cat birthing supplies!
