We're going to see Richard!!!!!:mad :D We're still trying to work out finances & see if we can afford both Mary & Richard Curtis when they are so close together, I'll be booking today or tomorrow  .

Oh good. You two go off & learn some doggy dancing and then you can show us all at the National on Sunday during the lunch break what you have learnt.

Yeah, in front of all X hundred exhibitors & 500 odd dogs, in centre ring.

I think NOT!!! I dunno about the dog, but I get stage fright!

I used to do doggy dancing exercises at obedience trials in the ring after they say "exercise finished". You will see a bit on youtube, in the CCD one, the guy who filmed it edited it out of my novice one. I do high 10's, jump over legs and reversing. I am doing the camping option with no meals so should lose some weight. LOL look out for the toller.

CTD - I looked at your videos, well done  . And I saw the high 5 - very cute :D .

OK, so we have to look out for the 2 BC's & the toller - anyone else going to be at Mary Ray or Richard Curtis that we need to watch out for? Mrsdog, what sort of dog do you have?

Ive just sent our money off for Richard Curtis tonight, still need to call about Mary Ray, but want to talk to Hesa on Sunday. Unfortunately all the dog places were booked with Richard, so we will all be there as spectators only, but since we'll only have 1 dog between us anyway, thats probably not such a big deal :( .

I did the Richard Curtis seminar yesterday and doing day 2 today, it was fantastic, he has you working the dogs heaps. You are split into two groups, one group on the floor at a time, so you get to watch other people as well. Bring heaps of food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting closer, how exciting!

I hope to be taking my white Lagotto girl, as long as she doesn't come into season this week. If she does then I will have to take my older brown boy, who doesn't do much of anything, but guess it will help me???

Now I am getting nervous and wishing I had done a bit more training. Have been getting a new flyball group up and running and that has been taking up all my time. Oh, well, once more for the slow learners..............

Just looove flyball, by the way. Such fun.

Seeya,

Noels.

Second day was even better!!!!! When he starts working the dogs he will split you into two groups, best to be in the first group, as they work longer. Its the first few who get out on the floor first, will post some photos soon. Really fantastic and the best seminar I have ever been to, I am even tempted to go to Sydney and do it again!!!!!!!!! LOL He even talks a bit about obedience and shows early training with his pup POGO. Also talks a bit about drive training.

Cant wait ;) it sounds great :) . Don't bother about Sydney though - we cant even take our dogs, all the dog spots are taken, we can only go as spectators  .

We saw Richard (aka God in our household :eek: ) - what an absolutely FABULOUS workshop! We had only booked in for the Saturday as we had the Sheltie National to go to on the Sunday but we ended up scrapping the National & going back to his seminar it was that good!!:rofl: We enjoyed every minute of it, I was gutted when he said he didnt know if/when he was coming back. :o

We will be at Mary Ray as well, but only on the Friday for the dancing with dogs bit. Dunno how many other shelties will be there, but mine is only 6 months old, so smaller than a full grown one & a sable & Hesa's is a black & white.

WEIA, afraid so, we stuck Jonty in his breed class first thing Sunday morning & then bolted back down to Richard as soon as it was over  . Never saw more than 1 or 2 other shelties in the ring the whole weekend  .

CTD, yep, really enjoyed the videos of all the stuff he has done with Pogo, he is one hell of a dedicated man & definitely a bit of a perfectionist  . I even got to put Jonty in the workshop on Sunday which as good fun & I particularly liked the brainstorming bits where we had to think up moves etc for characters & specific songs & the bits where we all had to get up & dance  .

It really was a great eyeopener, especially to someone like me who's completely new to the sport, we had a ball & learnt sooooo much, it was worth the 12 hr drive each way just to learn from him. Im hoping Mary Ray will be just as informative & interesting next week  .

Learnt quite a lot during the week. A few things I liked was the way of teaching a puppy a kick back stand from in front, also how to get quick spins. She also showed me how to get faster pick ups using the clicker. She teaches puppys a lot of stuff from a young age especially to spin as it makes the dog more flexible when its older. Also liked the "Cantalever" drop from in front. In agility she worked with a dog that was barking using a clicker and got excellent results. Demonstrated with Moses on how to teach send to the box using a target. Met Tassie.
