christine collins
have recently re-homed a great dane, female, between 14 and 18 months (thats the age I was given anyway) she is great with the kids and learnikng to walk on a lead (assisted by a halti) problem is the cats, they MOVE. if she is in and the cats are asleep, no problem. when the cats move, NOTHING will stop her chasing them. I want a companionable dog, not a stuck outside one, but the cat problem is daunting. any ideas?? (apart from getting rid of cats??)
Alison1474
I don't have any cats so I'm sorry I can't help with your problem but I'd absolutely love to see a photo of your dane.... Can you post one???

peibe
Put a security door on a room in your house with a lockable cat flap, this is the cats safe room Allow the Dane to come inside and watch the cats moving around their room unmolested. She will eventually get used to them moving and the novelty will wear off Always have her on lead when the cats are in the rest of the house, better safe than sorry
