MolassesLass
I've probably been too generous but it's "3 strikes and your out" time for my vet. So, I was wondering if anyone that really likes their vet (esp. other breeders) could please mention them, their regular consult fee (if known) and why they are good. *NOTE* - Please do not put-down any vets/vet surgeries, bouqets only. KitKat
As you know i've been thru a few vet sugeries hunting for the one that suits me and mine...and for me that's Salisbury Vets on Lillian Ave. Yes...i've told you that before but thought i'd give them a plug  As to why i like them * Vet doesn't act like a 5 min expert * Vet doesn't treat me like an idiot * Vet doesn't treat my dogs like slavering beasts (used to call Harm 'Harmless' * Vet doesn't treat my cats like large rats (no offence ratty people ) * Vet discusses stuff with me and lets me make decision (eg at times i have driven by ad picked up stuff to dose animals with rather then being charged a consult when not needed) * Has been a vet for ever and ever...lol * Fairly priced * They dealt/helped with Harm in his last hour with honor and respect, and made the procedure painless for him which caused less pain for me. * There is more...but i can't think of them at the moment
t-time
I'm North of brissy now and thankfully, blessed with 2 particularly good vets who are willing to go that extra mile  I've heard that West Chermside is the best place to go because they have all the specialists there but are quite expensive (well, they are specialists, I guess) and a bit rushed. By all accounts a thorough clinic and I don't know of any clients who have been unhappy with their service. *NOTE* - Please do not put-down any vets/vet surgeries, bouqets only. Whoops! Sorry. jls
Hi, Since you mentioned, salisbury, I imagine, it'd be easy for you to get to Mt Gravatt. Can recommend Kessells Road vets - very good, when I lived there~!~ All the best, jls
MolassesLass
JLS, not saying anything further except that I'm leaving Kessells Road surgery.
Fit for a King
ML - is that the calamvale vet surgery you are leaving? If so could I ask you to pm and tell me why - I have just moved all of my animals to them....
Koza
We go to Park Ridge. Quite happy so far. Usual prices, very good attention, discuss everything. After Stella's operation on knee didn't work, they did the second one for 1/4 price and the 3-rd for free, though it wasn't their fault (the implant was rejected). Koza
And another one we used to visit - a bit far, but the main vet very devoted person. can't remember his name... something polish. In Redbank Plains, Moreton Bay surgery.

New Age Outlaw
I second West Chermside, but to be honest as they are specialists I don't go there for minor stuff (as it is quite a distance from my place); however for surgery and complex issues they are worth the drive. I'm not sure where you are (you sound like on the southside?) but I'm in the inner west, and I go to Indooropilly vet, although sometimes I still go to my original vet Greencross Woolloongabba, as I have always been happy with their service, and their hours are good for people who work (late opening on weeknights and open all day Sat & Sun). Tilly
We used to use the Acacia Ridge Vet Surgery on Foote Street and found them to be really friendly and thorough with their examinations and treatment. We only stopped using them because we got a very aggressive security dog and they continually failed to listen when we asked them not to touch the dog unless we had a firm hold of him first. After the vet was nearly knocked through the wall a few times we decided to looked for another vet. We now take our security dogs to Algester Vet Surgery on Algester Road. This vet deals with Police and RAAF dogs so he understands security dogs. Most of our guys actually look forward to going to the vets because they love the staff. I have been sitting outside the vets a few times due to "emergencies" and the vet has quickly fitted them in. On one occassion our regular vet was called in from his holidays to do emergency surgery on our elderly rottie after he was injured - all because our dog didn't like his replacement and wouldn't let him into the surgery. I also take my cockatiels to the Wishart Road Veterinary Surgery. I have only been there once but the vet was absolutely fantastic. They fitted me in without an appointment and he took his time to thoroughly check the birds - they even rang the next day to see how they were going. Canine Country
I would also highly reccomend West Chermside , For specialist, reprodictive or difficult problems. They are not cheep but next week we can get more money, much more difficult to replace your mates.... I have spent thousands there and dont regret one cent. huga
I take our kids to My Pets Vet at Bald Hills coz they don't speak to me like I'm stupid, are pretty reasonably priced and are good to the kids. Although, touch wood, we have never had any major dramas...
Scarlet
Must live sort of close Hugapug. I go to the Eatons Hill vet, the one with the dinosaur in the front yard. Don't like the owner but the resident female vet is good, although I haven't had anything major either.
Samie loves TT's
And another one we used to visit - a bit far, but the main vet very devoted person. can't remember his name... something polish. In Redbank Plains, Moreton Bay surgery. Yes, Yes! I was just going through this before I recommended the surgery at Redbank Plains. I thinks it's called Moreton Vet Hospital. I have only had to take my Indian ring neck parrot there but I have taken a friends dog there when it was attacked by her hubbies greyhounds (stupid fight over food, he should have known better, not dogs fault at all!!!). They were bloody brilliant, had bitch there for 4 days on drips and all about $500 (?). Also had non-showing workmates mini-foxie rushed there after hours with canetoad poisoning (anyone remember Biffy's story in Feb?) I want them to be MY doctor!!! Each time I have been there I have seen a different vet and they have all been marvelous. With my Parrot, it was the day before payday and I had no money. Mista (parrot) and gotten into invisible thread and wound himself up in it. Can home to find him all bound and i panicked, phoned vet, they took him in straight away (after 6pm), cut all the thread from his little legs and feet. Made me feel less like a bad Mom and didn't charge me for their 20 min of work. They certainly have your babies interest at heart.
