haven
Lol I am such a dope, in my current state it didnt even occur to me that I would probably get to meet other DOL members. I was (and will be) there, my appologies to all if i seem a little less than together, I have been unwell recently Reading the posts and putting it together I seem to have missed on matching quite a few faces with names! Like Erny I tend to remember the dogs (visually) more than the people and they certainly were all a handsome bunch! Of course Nova thinks she is the princess of them all
Erny
Erny - if only I had known! I could have regaled you with more tales of "wierd people I meet at the park"!! I thought about making a comment to you along these lines in my above post, KK, but wasn't sure it would come out with the jest intended. Mine was the little b&w that K9 did food drive with. Which one was yours? I remember you! Cute dog! Kal is unwell. She was better off at home. So I was 'dogless' on Friday. But I was sitting on the far side of Haven (with the Rotty) ..... Haven was sitting on the ground leaning up against the concrete pole. Oh, and I left a little green fridge bag behind ... I'm in SE suburbs, but not bayside. But I can pick it up for you if there's no one more suitably located. HOPEFULLY I'll remember (my head's full of all the info K9 & SARDA have given .... with MORE to come!) KismetKat
Cute dog! I think so too! I was sitting on the far side of Haven Hmm there were a couple of people over there on the (my) left - so hard to place you. Hope your dog gets better soon Erny. Nothing serious I trust. But I can pick it up for you if there's no one more suitably located. That would be great if no-one is closer. I am happy to come to you at your convenience to collect. I think I left it under the white table that is on the left just after you enter the club rooms. Let me know. Like I said, no drama if it is lost forever, but it WAS a handy size for things - so much appreciate any help in retrieving. Hmm - erny - were you the one in the cap with the clip board asking good questions??????
Scope
feralpup, i was sitting next to you with the video camera on my knee... and fido, i WILL mail that tape back to you, PM me your address... with Steve's permission (i'm pretty sure he has said previously that it's cool if copies of video taken are given to other attendees) i will try to condense the whole 5 tapes - almost 1.5hrs each - onto a dvd or two, as soon as i can manage to clear the hard drive space on my pc to dump it all over... Nekhbet, sorry again for getting you to bring both of your terrors down... lol (i asked to borrow Skooter (the dogue) for the day - didnt realise just how many other dogs would be there!) hope your foot gets better real soon, too! and Erny if you want a tutorial on your camera software let me know, i can drop over one day when i'm not doing anything... :D
Erny
Of course Nova thinks she is the princess of them all. rolleyes: More like tartlett ..... rolling over showing her twat to all and sundry that would care to take a gander. What a smoocher.
J...
Scope I figured that one out when you mentioned bringing Hudson for a demo But missed Fido, KMK and Nehkbet!! Haven was easy - as was Lablover (definitely cheating when people call them DOL name!!!!) I figured Erny out when I heard her mention Kal (sorry she's unwell :D ) and that's all at this stage.... maybe as more people "drop in" I'll figure them out! :D Funny how you tend to recognise dogs names and pics! :D
Erny
Hmm - erny - were you the one in the cap with the clip board asking good questions?????? How in the world .... no, WHY in the world would I say "no" to that one! I had a hard backed notebook (A4) that I was writing notes in. Sat in a green fold away chair (yesterday). Had a cap on. Wore a black coat with faux fur on the collar (yesterday). Fingerless mittens .
ish
I was the one with the GSD in the crate I knew Clicking Mad with the adorable Chester the dally, and worked out who Nekhbet, Scope, Erny, Fido666 and Haven were but I'm a bit shy Internally, I was very happy to meet you all What an amazing day, my head is still spinning! I had to attend an aspiring instructors lecture today and I don't think I took in a word of what was said, too busy thinking about yesterday! It was too bloody far away though - next time can we have it a bit more central pleeeeeeeeease? It took me 3 hours to get there in the morning and despite getting horribly lost on the way home, minus the traffic it was still over 2 hours. Whinge over, even if it was 5 hours away, I'll still be there next time! Lablover, Stamp is amazing, I'm just in awe. You must be so proud of him and yourself. I think everyone who had a dog used for a demonstration should give themselves a pat on the back, what a fantastic bunch of dogs! Apologies to Skooter and Rosie from Chili for being growly and silly - she's over protective of her food and I think she just freaked a bit when she was playing with Skooter when she realised that huge head belonged to an equally huge body! Other than that, I was pretty happy with how she behaved for the day (a couple of you might remember her from the last vic workshop - Steve worked with her for fear aggression) I can't wait to get started on my own dogs with some of the techniques we learnt yesterday. Scope
copies of footage wont be a problem - condensing it all and re-encoding it will be... given my shocking camera work and the fact that most of it just steve talking i might try to knock the quality for a lot of it down a fair bit... just keep bits with demonstrations/diagrams etc at a decent quality... i appologise in advance if this takes me fricking ages, but i will get it done eventually! i will check with Steve again tomorrow that it is OK to hand out copies, and those who want them (that attended yesterday) can PM me a mailing address, i'll send it out on however many DVD's it ends up being oh, and nice to know who a few more of the ppl sitting around me were, even if i didnt get to meet you all properly :D
fido666
Ahh i'm working out who everyone was now..... Lablover had the gorgeous black lab Stamp. Erny was wearing the blue and red cap and was dogless - sorry to hear your Kal is unwell . KK had the small b & w dog that Steve was teaching to spin . Oonga had the small Rotti in the crate near me. Nekhbet had Scooter the Dogue and the noisy Belgian :D (must be something about that country, my OH is just the same ). Didn't realise what was going on with your foot, what happened? Feralpup had the small black Lab (did I get that right?). Haven had the Rotti and the NDTF cap on. Scope was playing camera person for the day - I'm cool about the tape will PM you. ISH had the GSD in the crate with the hessian mattress. Clicking Mad had the Dally. I had the spotty Collie who just wanted to be with his mum. Can you believe this is the same boy who was booted out of class for "lack of attention"? He spent most of the time staring at me but he did get a bit bored and restless towards the end. He's a good boy really, just had a rough couple of years health wise (he's tiny for his age) and missed out on a lot of early socialisation. It was great meeting you all, perhaps we can do it again some time. Cheers, Corine

J...
Maybe we should've had an introduction session at the start with our AKA DOL names!!! Yep the young "lab" is Darcy - actually lab kelpie x but tending heavily towards the lab (as you could see by the doggie dimples on her butt!!!) ;) Clicking Mad I loved your Dal - how old is he/she? Scope can I get a copy please? Happy to pay whatever for it..... I didn't think I would but I realise I've missed out on a lot trying to keep Darcy entertained... ;) I didn't realise we wouldn't be working with them at all and in hindsight would've left her at home.... probably good for her to learn to sit still for the day anyway Edited May 27, 2006 by feralpup
Herr Rottweiler
That doesn't make any sense feralpup? Why did you take your dog to the seminar if you knew it wasn't a practical workshop?
J...
Because it stated in the information that we were welcome to bring our dogs. My understanding was that we would actually be working with our dogs throughout the day, not just for a few demonstrations. I misunderstood, brought my dog with me (as did many of the attendees) and realised that maybe I shouldn't. You live you learn. ;)
Herr Rottweiler
I'm not being rude to you, just curious but wasn't that stated clearly on the flyer? If not you should mention it to K9
Erny
and Erny if you want a tutorial on your camera software let me know, i can drop over one day when i'm not doing anything... ;) Ooooh ..... I didn't know you'd posted this when I saw you today. Thank you. By the sounds of your work load, though ...... ?? I will try to see what I can organise as far as "help" is concerned, but when you do have time and if I haven't managed to get things to work as they should, your help would certainly be appreciated. J...
Thats ok HR - having never been to a dog training workshop I didn't know what to expect... I'm not upset about it - I should've asked more questions before I went.... ;)
wyvernblade
I don't know how you guys have had the energy to post on here each night over the last 3 days!! I've been coming home exhausted and this is the first time I've checked in! LOL I was the one there on Friday with the 'fluffy' shepherd. I was there for the last two days as well, and have to say how incredibly impressed I was with Lablovers dogs, and the SAR dogs and with STEVE!!! What a fantastic 3 day worskhop, I am going to wake up feeling dissapointed tomorrow that I'm not travelling back there again. We should have introduced ourselves at the start with our AKA Doler names ;) Nice to meet you all, and Scope I too would love a copy of the tape from Friday just let us know when you have it and I'll send you an address. *wanders outside to start %$^##ing off dog with ropey ball toy*
J...
Hey while I think of it - did Steve say where we could get those "prey ball/stringy" toys from.... I thought I heard him say it was on the website but I couldn't find it..... I knew I should've bought one on the day ;)
