Mine would be over 30 years old. I got it for the Afghans and it's been used on some breeds over the years and put away when not suitable. It's out again now for the Silky Terrier and still going well!

I used to have two but one got pinched years ago so I'm very careful where I put this one - can't afford another lol.

I got a mason pearson brush for my goldie! I love it

bought it thru ebay uk! Saved me almost half the cost

I have a small and a medium, both used for well over 30 years. I think if you pay a substantial price for a brush, you tend to look after it so they do last a long time. I do know there are others on the market that won't set you back as much and not to put M&P brushes down at all, I love mine, but if you look after any brush as if you had paid as much for it as you had for the M & P---I think you will find that a lot of them will last for 30 years. For instance, I still have the first Slicker brush ever in our home--and used every weekend on three dogs for 20 years. 30 years down the track from that........It's still quite usable.

Makes me think about charging the right price for a puppy----hopefully---they pay enough---they look after it, but sadly, it does not always work this way. Pity dogs are not as treasured as dog brushes.

so these brushes are made for humans? ive never heard of them :s

when i was a young girl growing up - my aunt bought me two mason pearson pure bristle brushes - one pocket and one large - for my hair. I was supposed to do 100 strokes per night. They are the best things for your scalp. I still have them (38 years later) and they are in excellent condition.

when i got my puppy - i thought - excellent - i have two brushes i can use - turns out i cant - because they are just the boar bristle - and not the combination, they wont penetrate the long coat of my sheltie.

I still have my first Mason Pearson too. It is nearly 20 years old now and still going strong. In present company I think I feel ashamed to admit that I prefer my Plush Puppy brushes for my dogs! :D
