Mooper
When we lived in Virginia, dogless, our neighbours were kind enough to let me walk and play with their Yorkshire Terriers -- Tinker and her daughter Spunkey -- at every opportunity. We looked after them and the rainbow lorikeet, Lorey, every time they went away. A fairly overweight Tinker developed diabetes and pancreatitis earlier this year, and after several months of insulin and a very bland diet, she ended up in the vet's emergency room on Christmas morning. With insulin every two hours, she seemed to be pulling through but finally gave up the ghost on 26 December. At 4.30pm her time had come, and our dear neighbours sent her to play at the bridge. Rest in peace, Tinker. You'll be sorely missed, beautiful girl.
