walkthedog
I have a neighbour who says she vacuums her dog!! gets the fleas out too, she says. My boys don't have heavy shedding so I'm not tempted but just wondering if anybody here does this.

FHRP
I used to run the vacuum over my Spinone when I was vacuuming the floors. It sucked up some hair, but not much and I doubt it would do anything for fleas. Maybe my vacuum cleaner wasn't powerful enough! She certainly still shed everywhere. Ezza
no, but I have sure as hell been tempted!! Loki is a real pain in the ass to brush, be keeps wanting to squirm away and run around. Taya is of no help either, she stirs him up, cause she has finished shedding. I have clumps of husky hair everywhere. It would be much neater just to vacuum it straight off the dog, than of the carpet, car and furniture!
Christina77
My dog loves it , but I have to let her "Kill" the vacuum first , then she'll sit and let me vacuum her
Miranda
One of my dogs absolutely loves to be vacuumed, she comes running up as soon as I get it out and practically begs for it. I don't know that it does much, maybe takes out the dust and a bit of loose hair, but obviously she loves the feel of it. My other dogs disappear as soon as I open the cupboard where 'it' lives
haven
Yep, sure have vaccumed my dog I used one of those little 'dustbuster' types that I brought as socialisation equipment. He used to be scared of the vaccum cleaner, but thanks to a desensitisation program he will happily be vaccumed, although it really doesn't get much hair out. Can't imagine it getting fleas out as it doesn't have the suction and I don't think that is the way to deal with a dog that has fleas....

~Anne~
The head of my vacuum is all chewed where my gumby bear tries to bite it.... he thinks that I am moving it back and forth for him to play 'chasey' so I'm not sure I'd be able to vacuum him. Missey's Mum
My dog hates the vacuum, she even knows the word and will run out and sit in her kennel.
InspectorRex
Our old bog Bonnie used to love being"dust-busted' and when my late Mum was working for a Crown prosecutor In Melbourne his GSD "Duke" used to follow Mum around waiting to be vacumed, he loved it
noisymina
I wish - would love to vac mine - but she's paranoid. First tome I took it out after we got her - at 4 years - she ran right down to th back fence and it tok all morning to get her back. Don't think we'll get her THAT friendly with it . cheers
schnauzer
We used to vacuum our german shepherd and he just loved it. It was a great way to get the coat out when shedding.

KitKat
It had given me a few ideas...not sure if my dogs will appreciate it tho However...once while i was doing work experiance at a vet practice we used a dustbuster/minivac to suck up the loose fur after clipping/shaving (to prepare fur desexing). I got the mini vac job which was amusing and i was running it from the belly down towards his bottom...and what do you know? i saved the vet from some work...one teste was still in hiding...but working the mini vac in the right direction popped it back into place...i think the vetnurse and myself were giggling for the rest of the day
