Actually eat! She has trouble eating normal biscuits because of the shape of her mouth... there just ends up being a big mess everywhere.

Does anyone know what RC is like? and what the pricings are? I think Im going to give this a try

I have used RC Hypoallergenic and found it to be ideal for my Cavalier. You will find it more expensive but i don't use as much because it appears to be " denser", so it works out OK in the long run. I also supplement with veges, sardines and bones

Edited because I can't put a sentence together!

Royal Canin is one of the super premium foods, because of that you won't need to feed as much etc, but it is priced much the same as the other super premium foods. Also check with your petshop as they'll let you know if they do the frequent buyer cards.

I know people here who use the lab food but i don't know anyone as yet who uses the Boxer food, although i have seen what it's like and my GSD loves it when i nab a sample pack for him :) It really is a nifty shape..lol

Have you gotten a sample of it yet? if not jump onto the RC website and email the rep in your state and they should be able to send you a sample, or let you know when a promoter will be in a petshop in your area, from which you'll be able to get a sample from.

If worse comes to worse let me know and i'll nab you a sample and send it to you :)

My friend has started feeding it to her Brachy pup and is raving about it. Royal Canin also seem to have a really good policy aswell, they know their product is good and dont seem to ram it down peoples throats. I think it's buy 10 bags get one free? I believe it's about $120 per bag. Im thinking of doing the switch aswell, I was given some samples and the dogs wolfed them down as though they were treats :)

Thanks for the replies everyone :) Apparently Bondi has cravings for biscuits :) my sister fed the dogs tonight and Bondi got into the biscuit container and was eating them (which she never usually does!) and everytime my sister walked back into the room Bondi would turn her head away as to say "Im not eating them"

Im emailing for a sample now :D

Hi there,

I've had a little trouble feeding my new little Rottie rescue Tallulah as she was pretty spoiled in her previous foster home (better than not spoiled at all!!).

She won't touch Eukanuba (which I have fed to all my Rots over the past 8 years) but LOVES LOVES LOVES Royal Canin. Eats it dry with no enticement.

I've switched. I'm donating the Euks to Friends of the Pound down in Tweed. :)

Thooder.

I'll be having probs when I get my family home to Australia... At present I feed them a cheap food "Royal Canine Selection7 " which doesn't exist at home... It is a dry food that you must add boiling water to before feeding, then I add some minced beef to make it yummy (it still had a good protein level though, despite the mushy appearance)... The RC boxer food gives my boxer a seedy tummy although he is very fragile in the intestines due to severe worm damage when I found him starving and attached to a lamp post with an electric extention lead around his neck... :) Any "normal" boxers therefore may not react so badly...

Royal Canine "sensitive" is better for my boxer, but gives cystitis to my Dogo cross (along with ANY other dry food). My third doggy eats anything though the top quality foods, even in tiny quantities makes her gain enormous amounts of weight :) I know in the long run it's not good, but the only feed that suits everybody is the cheapest one, non-existant in Australia... Does anyone know of a similar type of "soup" that I could feed them once I'm home ???

  • 2 weeks later...

My Boxer is not only fussy but also has a sensitive stomach and it wasn't til she was about 2 1/2 years old that I finally got her to a healthy weight and nice firm stools.

The only biscuits i have found for her that I am happy with are Eukanuba Maintenance and what she is currently on which is Science Diet Sensitive Stomach which she will eat alone as is

BUT it looks like I will be emailing RC in Sydney tomorrow to try this particular one !!!!!!!!
