gummiebear2411
In August I had to travel for working abroad for a couple of months. In the meantime my family was suppossed to take care of my 3-year-old BB, the cutest Cocker Spaniel in the world (for me). Before I left I took him to vet shop to be groomed and he also received his worm medicine but he needed a vaccination in October. Last Saturday I received a phone call, it was my sister-in-law. She told me to call home. I thought something may have happened to my father. I felt so desperate, I could not call back home. When I finally reached my family they told me that my BB was sick. They didnt know what happened. He got his CANIGEN vaccination on October 16th, after that all symptoms began. On Tuesday he seemed tired. On wednesday he couldnt walk. They called to vet but she said it was because of cold weather. On thursday, he began vomiting and shaking during the last hours and finally on Friday, he suffered a general bleeding and needed and injection to stop suffering. I tried to come back as soon as I could. I arrived on Monday morning, too late for seing my doggie for the last time. I feel so sad and so upset right now. I am upset with my family because they made several mistakes by overseing my BB symptoms. I hate the doctor for saying it was just the weather...but above all I hate myself for leaving my doggie alone. Some people may think I am over reacting but I just try to understand what happened. Is canigen dangerous? Or was it just my BB 's fate? Life goes on, true...but I keep on crying for my BB.

White Shepherd mom
Hi Gummiebear. I am so sorry for your loss. It is always very hard losing our precious pups. Could you please tell us what a Canigen vaccination is? Is this for a specific condition?
gummiebear2411
Thanks for your support. Yesteday it was my first day on the street without my BB and my neighbors began asking me about him. Today the same. It seems they think I should not cry for him but I do, over and over. The vaccination was CANIGEN MHA2PPI/LR, manufactured by Virbac Lab. and for parainfluenzae + distemper + rabies, etc. Before my Bb always received the one manufactured by Pfizer's Lab. Maybe it was not only the vaccination but also the worm medicine and the visit to vet shop from grooming the next day. I found this on internet: Following completion of the primary course vaccination, dogs should not be exposed to infection for at least 14 days. Or maybe BB ate some poison left on the sidewalk by mean people. I just don't know. What I do know is my BB had everything to be safe and healthy. Sad thing is I may never find the answer I am looking for and I will always feel someone took him away from me. Thanks for being there.
