Epilepsy?

Thanks WSM. He hasn't had any since. His bloods were normal and his PB level is within the allowed safe range.

I've been reading on the canine-epilepsy board and there were a few mentions of seizures commencing before the age of 12 months may have other causes, and may not necessarily be epilepsy. I'm looking at taking him to a neurologist for further checks.

I'm not having a lot of luck from his breeder; as soon as I mentioned epilepsy she said she'd never had to deal with it and that none of her dogs had it.

I'm so pleased Arish has been seizure free. I don't know about you but my ear is tuned into Casper at all times. If I just hear a scratch on the floor I turn to see if he's seizing but dufus is usually rubbing his face with his front dew claws or rolling on his back!

It's great that you're taking Arish to the neurologist. I'd love to hear what he says as I have not taken Casper to one.

I can imagine his breeder not wanting to know. It's the only way she can claim ignorance. I really wonder if none of her dogs has had it or if she's just keeping that info to herself.

There is no proof yet that epilepsy is genetic however so the breeder shouldn't be concerned.
