I don't know about the training centres in other states just yet as one of their concerns is maintaining integrity of the course with experienced instructors.

Thanks for that H.R. I'm in Melbourne and have joined NDT, but in a year or 2 may move back to Qld, so was wondering if any plans were in the pipeline to open training centers up there!

I'm not actually sure what the figure is because I believe that some people choose to do more elective on the course. If you ring Julija who runs the NDTF she will be able to advise you any information that you require. She is also handling the distance learning component as well so definately have a chat with her

Herr Rott - I would definitelly do the course, for myslef.

As to opportunities - in Sydney - how could we compete with K9 Force, surly would not be competing on price........... nor on knowledge..............

We would have to get him out of this town first :protest:

Bait his food! J/k

There is enough dogs out there for everyone myszka. Even Steve would tell you that. Australian Dog Training is the largest Professional dog training organisation in Australia, (purely Victorian at this time) but we don't get all the dogs, nor could we cope with them all.

If you know what you're doing and if you do it well people will come to you.

Like they said in Field of dreams with Kevin Costner,

"If you build it, they will come"

The NDTF course will give you one of the greatest oportunities to follow your dreams of becomming a trainer/ instructor, you just have to make the effort.

Best wishes

I should explain - I dont think that becoming a dog trainer is my DREAM career.

I do do it now as a volounteer and get a kick out of it, but I dont think I could do this as a full time employment.

But I could run around classrooms handing out teaching material :whip: and being able to answer questions if asked

And best cracking the whip on those that I would potentially employ....

K9 do you want to work for me  when I open my pro school one day?

sorry about hijack.....

You know what I don't enjoy about dog training - some of the owners. Particularly ones who won't recognise or acknowledge THEIR contribution (or lack of it ) to their dog's problems.

No dog training professional career for me. I'd throttle someone.

Awww ya nasty pastie. Some owners can be very frustrating but the challenge for me is to find a common ground then work from there.

HR (abit off topic here) but do you think ADT will ever have their own training grounds one day?

We have a lot of plans in the pipeline kitty.
