Rusky
No worries, Rusky. Don't think I'll be starting it off tonight, though. Have a bunch load of reading to do in an attempt to gain some deeper knowledge about BSL in anticipation of helping out at the EDBA stand at Diamond Creek on Sunday have a great day. benson1802
OK!! i've done it. cancelled Vern Ryan.....let me tell you he was trying to convince me to stay.....he said: "just let me tell you, there's not a lot of people who specialise in that(being leash agression), so just be wary" i said "the place that i have called does actually have another border collie in the class that has the same problem as winnie, she is just a bit older" he said " yeah, but that doesn't mean that they know how to cure it" but anyway i have given him the flick. i actually feel good about it. i don't think i would have been 100% comfortable with him, as when i called around some places this morning they gave out a lot more information and offered information sessions, which is good. I'm happy i checked online to see others opinions before actually going, if i hadn't of called up other obedience places, i would have gotten sucked in, and my pocket drained.... I feel silly..... Thanks for giving me guidence. Herr Rottweiler : I called ADT, but their training sessions are on a tuesday night at 7pm and i just wouldnt be able to make it after work. Although they are sending me an information pack. I liked the information they gave me over the phone. ablenath: Wonga park is unfotunately a bit out of the way... i'm in werribee so it would take me over an hour to get there. I have called Four paws K9 Training... i liked how they sound. Has anyone been to them or know what they are like? Has anyone else got any other reccomendations that would be closer to werribee? Thanks!! I have been to ADT, and they have excellent positive training methods. Their trainers will also help out one on one if they can see you are having specific problems. Give them a call. They are tops!

Rom
I've seen a technique whereby you correct (physical) and treat simultaneously which results in even quicker compliance along with eagerness. Sounds like an idea out of a book called *Natural dog training* - I forget the authors name but I didn't find it a very helpful book anyway. Natural Dog Training by Kevin Behan, whilst I'm not sure I agree with some of his methods he gives great info on training in drive. ETA: I don't mind that the thread is a year old...I've really enjoyed reading it! If nothing else it is further strengthening my conviction that anthropomorphism is one of the most insidious (sp?) forms of cruelty there is.
