jeff
I agree just take your own food as for eating it, probably when its finished would be easiest, but the bbq is only about 30 mtrs from the start so when you get hungry I suppose

Purple Julie
I think bring your own food too. I am not so keen on BBQs, so we might just bring sandwiches or something. 3:45pm might be a bit late for lunch. what time are you all getting there I was wondering that too. I think I might get there at 1pm, unless it seems that everyone is going to go earlier than that. I'd like to get some nice pics of Jyra on the chase, so if anyone's taking pics, please take some of Jyra. I will have my digital with me also. ShepHead, your GSD has a nice dark face/mask. Here is are two pics of Jyra, so that you'll all recognise us:

Rebanne
or I could bring Al the greyhound but he wouldn't be allowed to run. Ok I just posted a link to this thread to my greyhound email group, then I read this. Why can't greyhounds compete? Or is it only Al who won't be allowed because you don't want him too? And could someone please post details of where and when, ie what time. If I was in Melbourne I'd bring my lot along

If I was in Melbourne I'd bring my lot along No sorry it just Al - he has an old injury to his fetlock which gets aggrevated when he runs alot and his foster carer says its a bad idea to encourage him to chase (I have a cat). Its such a shame because I know he would love it - should see him get all excited when he sees the roos here Nevermind, he can socialise instead. Poor Al. My Sam had a few old war wounds from his racing days. He'd have loved lure coursing he'd chase paper blowing down the street, he was very keen, but oh so gentle at home with the cats. So do you believe they can distinguish between lure coursing and chasing the cat? Probably a dumb question sorry. She said he'd revert back to race dog Al rather than sleepy, easy going Al. I thought maybe encouraging them to chase the lure would perhaps make them less enclined to chase the cat? I'm still semi-keen to give him a shot at it Just one go to see if he did get too sore. Cat is still on holidays with my sister.

chezzyr
Thanks Jeff for the info. It might also be worth mentioning that people shouldnt perhaps get all gung ho and buy heaps of turns because it can take a while to get through everyone and dogs really go at their own pace LOL. Last time we only purchased one turn for Rosie and that was enough and probably all there would have been time for! I guess it really depends on how many people turn up and play it by ear.... Purple Julie
I was thinking of buying 5 runs for Jyra. Do you think that'd be too much?
Guest Tess32
As a first go, yep too many. I bought Reilly three the first time, should have stuck with just two. You can always buy and give them to someone else later, but 5 goes is a LOT for a beginner dog who may not take to it. Nat
