Just wondering as I am going to get a mini schnauzer in a few months and want to be prepared on the grooming side of things...... Poodle wrangler Posted October 1, 2005 Share Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) I'm a bit off topic, but do schnauzers shed hair? I'm thinking of the OH, who's allergic to most dog hair, but seems 100% fine with a poodle. The poodle has even been on his pillow (unbeknownst to OH). Would love to know as I've always thought how handsome and full of character schnauzers are, but discounted them thinking their hair/fur would be a problem. Dogsfevr Posted October 1, 2005 Share Posted October 1, 2005 Schnauzers dont shed but if the coat is keeped hand stripped & not maintained correctly it will break at some point or self shed due to natural process.Ofcourse the hand stripping means plucking the coat out so you are exposed to the dander on the tip.
