i hope so, as i said it is his second lesson how would you change what he is doing to learn the swimmers turn? we have only been doing this for 2 weeks with bodie and 2 weeks (well apart (3months!!)) with Sparty, so we are beginners. I started this to give a break from agility and they both really seem to love it (ball fanatics!!)

We will start him on it at our next lesson :o. It is not too hard to train, El picked it up after one lesson.

Cool ... I had the thought that it's better to instil the habit early rather than late. At Parramatta they teach the turn without the ball first, before adding the ball in. That way there are some beautiful swimmers turns. The younger dogs especially have been learning these. Check out this page (click the "all" button if you have broadband), the Vizsla especially, and the height she is getting on the box. There are a number of not so good turns on that page too; you can visualise the difference in technique - both in terms of speed of dog and of the physical shock and stress on the dog.

I gather the swimmers turn is when they push off from the box ?

I have always wanted to do flyball.... Maverick loves the machine and will quite happily run up to it and hit it for the ball. Learnt this after 2 goes at it. Just finding the time to get to Parramatta...

I love Sue Towns photos :o, just wonderful. I hope she can get some good shots of Elvis on the weekend, especially his turns on the box.

Awww there is my little boy :D. His turns look shocking from that angle, but he does get atleast 3 if not all 4 feet up on the box and realy pushes of.

I just checked my email Jen, thanks for sending the photos :o.
