Interesting. I grew up over that way, and we used to swim at Clontarf beach (opposite the Spit to the east), where it was regularly noted that grey nurse sharks bred and would get snarky if you swam outside the enclosed area. We didn't see bull sharks back then... maybe the grey nurses chased them off too?

 Sydney Harbour is full of bull sharks. A couple of dogs have been attacked by sharks here over the years.

Years ago I used to let the dogs swim in the harbour but not anymore.

In the old days where I live some of the old timers used to send their dogs into the harbour. When they were wet they would lather them up with soap.  Then the dogs were sent back into the water again to rinse off.

Sadly the suburb is now so gentrified you  would never see anything like that happen here.

my mums cousin was taken by a bull shark not far from milperra bridge,  they come way up our rivers, trainers swimming their greyhounds in botany bay risked losing them.
