animalia
Hi! I have a client who just bought a 2 year old female pug about 3 months ago, she had a really coarse coat and barely any undercoat and at her old house she was an outdoor dog and never in the house. Since moving to my clients house she’s mostly inside with access to the outside, she was also de sexed about 3 weeks ago. After she was desexed her coat changed from a coarse fine coat to a think woolly coat with a thick undercoat that isn’t easy to get out. Is it a normal for pugs or dogs in general to have a complete coat change after being de sexed or would it be more likely that it’s due to her living mostly indoors or a combination of both? Thankyou in advance!
Mairead
I have heard of coat change in longhaired dogs but haven't noticed it in my shorthaired (not pug) dogs. Three weeks is a bit soon for a hormonal change. Has the diet changed? Edited December 6 by Mairead
