Recommendations For Brands Of XL Doggy Door Please.

Hi All
Wanting to put an XL doggy door in the security door and asking for recommendations on what people have had success with?

I don't consider myself handy but installed a Medium Petway brand pet door in my sliding security door. I bought it brand new at an op shop for a quarter of the retail price. It was beige and I spray painted it black (to match my door). I can confirm 5 different dogs (including a lab size one) have bashed and crashed their way through it over the  last 4 years and there is still no damage to it other than some nose art.

There used to be a bread delivery box in my sunroom off the kitchen. It was closed off on the outside after a kid broke into the house by using it. 

But if you have a neutral sign "dog on premises" with a neutral drawing of a dog that may be enough.

I have a sign on the front door "never mind the dog, beware of the owner" which is pretty accurate.

I have a GSD on premises sign though my last one passed 20 years ago. I also have a very large hole cut in my backdoor for my Greyhounds to go in and out. No feral kids yet and the neighbourhood is crawling with them.

How about a dog door that activates with an electronic collar?

I have the back door locked at a narrow opening width using a sliding bolt on the back.

I have a very friendly German Shepherd if you're invited in, but if you jump a fence God help you. But the one I would be worried about is the Cavalier.  So anyone trying to come through a screen door does at their own risk.

I thought the GSD method was to let people in but not let them out.
