Luvapoo
I have 5 toy poodles and we have ear mites. One female is 3 weeks pregnant. Vet has suggested bravecto and Ilium ear drops. Has anyone else experienced ear mites and had success with treatment? and do you know how we may have got them as we are on a property and my dogs don't mix with others. Foxes and/or rabbits can be carriers of all manner of things, including ear mites. I too say to follow your vet's advice @Luvapoo... T.
_PL_
Sorry Luvapoo. What worry. Such awful little parasites. A few animals like cats and rabbits carry ear mites so exposure just needs to be hanging out in an infected sleeping spot or exploring in shrubs or direct contact. When an infected animal is sleeping, mites make their way out of the ears and along the body often reaching the bedding/grasses so I heard it's just like bird mites. Not actual direct contact but also mites leaving the host in search of a new one. (Happy to be corrected). It's been years since I've seen ear mites, I remember doing the drops and the cleaning. With bravecto on top I guess it will be a lot easier.
Rebanne
I'd be very careful with Bravecto on your pregnant girl. I'd treat the other 4 and then separate for 24 hours. I would use the ear drops on her.

My dogs are not treated for anything except worms as we don't have fleas here and very rarely see the odd bush tick.
