Amstaff Puppy Food?

I have a 16 week old male amstaff  and just wanted to get others opinion on his food. He is currently on Royal Canin medium puppy 3x day, should I be giving him anything else?

What did his breeder recommend? I always like to add raw chicken necks/wings.

when we got him his breeder had him on stupid supermarket dry food Supercoat and puppy milk thats it

I've raised large breed pups on Supercoat puppy and puppy milk but added the raw chickens bits and other bits and bobs. My pups were taken off all puppy food by 4 months of age. Fed half dry food, half raw, though sometimes the raw might have been cooked, all dogs enjoyed a warm stew in winter time or a bowl of porridge.

Do you feel you pup needs more food or do you just want to mix things up a bit? If he was mine, he would be nearly down to 2 meals a day, one of which would not be commerical food.

The tricky thing is that you can't be sure what the best choice for your puppy is until you try a few brands. If the puppy thrives on supermarket dry food, than it's not a bad choice. I personally prefer Taste of the Wild for my pup. However, that doesn't mean it will suit yours. Royal Puppy food is good, and unless your puppy has digestive issues, I don't see any reason you should switch.
