no one seems to be discussing the pending legislation if they get it through, no bitch to have more than 2 litters before desexing. n vet certificate as fit for breeding or cant breed 2nd litter.   if you own more than 3 must be a registered business.

 

there must be minimum 1 staff for every 5 dogs and staff on hand 24/7 is what I have been told is already drafted and waiting to get passed in nsw parliament.

 

so much for eliminating puppy farms only the likes of kellyville pets will be allowed to breed once this is law.

 

that will bel all that is left.

 

no council is going to let you run a "businness" in Sydney or its suburbs, many country towns eg Dorrigo wont let you have an undesexed bitch unless she is housed in and air conditioned shed. That became law there almost 3 years ago now?

 

dont see a peep from the ankc in my emails or here

 

or have it missed it???????

Thanks for that link T, made it easy when I have other crap taking my resources.

 

I hope a lot more people sign,  share, and spread the word. This stuff is only helpful in reducing the benefits of Domestic animals in the lives of our communities. It does not  improve welfare considerations for those animals still kept  despite the legislation, or aid people to understand their responsibilities.

 

It is the imposition of an objective set of standards where subjective values are the only viable application for the continuation of Domestic  animals.

 Thanks have signed the petition! Some of the laws seem (at first glance) to be in favour of animals,such as record keeping, but there are so many confused & downright dangerous pieces of legislation, such as the numbers of "staff" required, that once again seem to be enabling puppy farms yet penalising smaller more intimate breeders & family homes. There are people  granted that do the wrong thing, but pieces of legislation that seem bent on supporting large scale farm like establishment breeders of dogs and cats, yet penalise smaller breeders that want to give their animals the run of the family home, are not doing anyone any favours. When I choose a new puppy and future family member,I want the benefits of socialisation that a smaller scale breeder can give- a dog that is used to all the sights & sounds of a family environment- not behind doors of a barn or kennel at the back of a  property- no matter how many staff or vets that have been involved.

well this one will also end puppy farms too though, no puppy farm could remain viable if they can only breed 2 litters and the bitch desexed.   well unless the prices go over the 10 to 20,000 mark?   come to think of it, they probably will. people will have to pay or they cant have a dog, simple as that

Bills like this get thrown up often. It encourages debate and action, which is good, and it helps prevent laws and ideas becoming ineffective and out of date. 
 

There has to be pretty strong support for a Bill to pass through and, even then, there’s more work and debate for it to move forward again if it is passed initially. 
 

I can’t see this one going anywhere. I don’t think there is much support.  Debate was adjourned on it late last year.
