I am a new breeder from New Zealand and it has been difficult to find a stud with that has been fully health checked in my area. I am considering Artificial Insemination here in New Zealand but thought I would also look overseas (have heard it is beneficial to add new genetics to the breeding pool). You need to talk to a reproduction vet, there is a fair amount of paperwork to be done, your vet should be able to help you as well as put you in touch with a company or two that does the actual importation.
