sharnalouise
Hello there! I've been searching for an American Eskimo Dog breeder in Australia but haven't had any luck so far. Does anyone know if this breed is even available in Australia? From my research is seems that they used to be called German Spitz, they're a bit bigger than Spitz' (Mittel), full white or with biscuit colouring. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it!
_PL_
Have you looked at Japanese Spitz? Not sure you'll find an Eskimo, could be wrong.

Do you think they haven't been imported here yet? We've really got our eye fixed on getting this particular breed... I personally like Japanese Spitz but my partner isn't too keen, and Samoyed's are a little too big. Thank you so much for responding!
_PL_
All these breeds are the ANKC registered ones the highlighted ones have further information. https://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/dog-breeders.asp Honestly, people have imported their chosen breeds themselves. You just can't get every breed here.

Thank you so much for responding! How did you go with your search? Did you find a good fit for you and your family? Our Japanese Spitz, Aspen, came from a breeder over in New Zealand. We contacted numerous breeders here in Australia, but none had a litter for several months. There are a few registered Japanese Spitz breeders in various states, it's just a matter of waiting for a litter. Some also have an expression of interest list you can sign up for to be notified of current or future litters.
Mairead
Waiting "several months" for a puppy is unacceptable? Why? 2

I engaged with a breeder from New Zealand that was listed on Dogz Online as she had one puppy from her litter available and the costs were the same even after including customs, flights, etc. My point was to engage numerous breeders to see how far along their litters are.
