sandgrubber
I have moved to NZ. I have a litter coming on 2 weeks old and it's time to start deworming. I can't find any liquid wormers (will ask vet later...they're not open yet) on NZ vet med sites. Do people give solid versions (Aristopet puppy and small dog) to baby puppies? I've used pyrantel pamoate in the past and liked it...(pups always spit out drontal liquid) and will order it from abroad if needed.
moosmum
Long time ago now so I can't remember the active ingredients but have used solid versions on pups with no problems at all. Edited August 11, 2021 by moosmum

I found solid tabs are fine IF you jam them down the throat. The first time I tried I found 4 spit up quarter tablets in the whelping box
moosmum
What worked best for me was to crush the tabs individually and mix with butter. Just popped the little butter pat into their mouths. I would hold their jaws just enough to stop the tongue coming out while it melts and they mouth it down. Never a problem and good results.
