hi,  I will be picking up my new puppy in 7 weeks time.  It is coming from a trusted breeder however the mum wasn't registered as her original breeder was to have a litter from her first. .  The previous breeder is now going out of dogs. This dog got unexpectedly pregnant so my puppy's mum was not registered at the time,  a condition I happily accepted with getting my pup. My question is can I get her papers if the present breeder registers the mum and we can prove the lineage of my pup or not?  Can I show her in NSW without papers. I'm new to this and it doesn't matter either way just something I've wondered.

No, the bitch has to be registered before being bred. You will not be able to show her but you can put her on the associate register once desexed and do sports with her.

It sounds like you have been told an untrue story. If at at stage any registered breeder was going to have a litter from the mother of your pup, she would have been registered from the time she was a puppy herself - it’s not something that is done at the time of breeding. Please consider if this is the only untruth that you have been told from the breeder

Ish I read the post that the bitch was still in the original breeders name and had not been transferred to the current owner. But I do think it is all a bit suss.
