Bettesy77
Hi, I have just put a deposit on a 2 week old purebred cavalier king charles pup but have stumbled across information that the father has pulmonary stenosis. Is this guaranteed to affect my pup? Will this show up at the vetchecks before I get her at 10 weeks old? Stressing

sandgrubber
Another resource https://www.vet.cornell.edu/hospitals/companion-animal-hospital/cardiology/pulmonic-stenosis-dogs As I understand it, the condition is widespread in the breed. A dog that is tested with a mild case may be preferable to one that is untested. You need information on the severity of the sire's case, and it will be best to discuss it with a vet, preferably one with some credentials in cardiology.
