ilchestergoldens
Hey all! We got a new golden retriever pup. She is joining our 3 year old adult golden. I am trying to come up with a registered name for her pedigree (I get to choose). Her call name is Willow, it’d be cool to incorporate that. Any suggestions? Rebanne
does the breeder have a theme happening? How many letters do we have to play with? Including spaces the limit is 30 so how many letters in the prefix? Weeping Willow springs to mind immediately Pussy Willow Salix is the genus name for willow Edited August 24, 2020 by Rebanne
Papillon Kisses
Cutie! There’s a native Australian willow with the common name Wilga - Wilga Willow? The Latin name is Geijera, but that doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.
Pjrt
I’m not much help if she was mine I’d call her Willow Fluffy Pillow. Fur real!! 1
Diva
Depends how long the prefix is as that plus spaces is included in the allowable 30. Could use will in the name and willow as call name - Will o the wisp? Time will tell? Will she won’t she? Or just go for pretty - summer willow, sweet willow, willow song etc
cannibalgoldfish
If she gets gas she can be Windy Willow :D
Rascalmyshadow
I would use Wind in the Willows. We got the choice with our little chi, we chose her pedigree name South Sea Pearl (which are the most beautiful expensive pearls) and her name is Maisie which means pearl in Scottish (my grand mother was Scottish), thought it all tied together well.

PossumCorner
She is lovely, Willow suits her. Go with the formal latin name: Salix Aurita (common name Eared Willow). Or Salix Lutea (common name Yellow Willow). Or Salix Caprea (common names Goat Willow and Pussy Willow).
