ANKC breeder check

"Due to the increase in the number of people falsely claiming to be ANKC Ltd Registered Breeders, we have added a new facility to our web site, to check if a breeder is a registered ANKC breeder, inquirers simply enter the breeder's prefix or membership number and tick search."

apparently until its fixed have to put both the prefix and the number.

 

that's what was posted on face book anyway

 

Just tried it, doesn't work even when you put one or  both.

The other issue is it simply tells you prefix exists not that they own it .

 

Its still be better to contact the state body who can confirm other details that the person with the litter owns it

actually your right. all it does is confirm the kennel name and number existed if it worked.

doesn't mean the person saying its their prefix and number actually is that person?

so whats the point?

Exactly @asal I had a look at Zara-Dandie's prefix and there's nothing there

rather disappointed in it, why did they bother?

I haven't looked at it - but from what is above, it is not worth the pixels it costs.

 

The difference between identify and authenticate  is massive.  All this will do is identify a prefix exists,  not authenticate those who are using it.   The dodgy will simply ring a breeder and ask for the membership number so they can check it with the ANKC.  Then use that information to pose as the person.   mmmmmmmmmmm
