jwt
Hi all, Some time ago I posted a topic about finding a right dog for a young child with autism and intellectual delay. Now I want to share what we ended up with, and maybe one day a person with a similar question will read this. It was difficult to find a dog that would be safe for a child who is a slow learner. So three months ago we adopted an adult ragdoll cat. My child understood everything pretty quickly and now they are best buddies. Cat is very good, calm and friendly. I think a small dog would work too because it makes an impression of a creature that is easy to hurt and doesn't make a desire of a rough play.

Rascalmyshadow
What a wonderful outcome, I’m so glad you made the right choice, rag dolls are such dog like cats and generally have a lot of patience. 1
