persephone
hi what is pld? Have you spoken with the breeder about this problem ? Do any others in the litter have problems? How long have you had Frankie? Was the breeder feeding different food ? What have you bathed him in ? What colour is Frankie? What flea/tick control products have you used? What sort of bedding does Frankie sleep on ..and whereabouts in the house? That may give us something to work on
Dogsfevr
Have you spoken to the pups breeder? Is that the food they feed & suggested ? Have you bathed him in anything?
cnich
Apologies for the typo persephone, pld should read 3mth old .... Harvey's breeder had the puppies on Supercoat when we purchased him. We transitioned him slowly on to Royal Canin as recommended by the vet soon after purchase. Harvey is an apartment puppy, sleeps indoors in his crate, with cotton bedding, he has had no direct contact with grasses or plants as he is not yet fully vaccinated. I have spoken to the breeder & he has suggested the problem may be with the food, bathing has been with an organic/sulphate free puppy shampoo. Dogsfevr
Be warned vets will recommend anything they sell it doesn't mean thats the right food nor does a vet always know more than the breeder .You should have phoned your breeder when the vet suggested you should change ,some brands do not suit all dogs ,i feed one dog on RC but can't feed it to others . Easy solution is to put him back on the diet the breeder told you feed ,stop bathing him & see what happens Aslo don't get sucked in buying crazy organic free shampoos .People will sell you anything again doesn't mean its required or the best .The product could be making him itch
persephone
Thanks ...if your pup hasn't been out to get dirty - he shouldn't need bathing ;) Dogs don't sweat - so don't have a problem like humans . How often do you bathe him ? What colour is he ?
juice
At 12 weeks he shouldn’t need a bath yet as he hasn’t done anything , how often have you done it ? Could be irritating him. Vets push whatever food they get paid to so ignore that , go back to what breeder fed and take their advice .
