CYCAD seeds can be fatal to dogs

like many plants in our gardens ..these seeds can be picked up /played with/swallowed by inquisitive pups/dogs. 

A pup belonging to friends has just been released from hospital after a scare involving these seeds ,and liver damage  he  was a very sick young man  indeed!! Still not in the clear - but at least he's home .

Thanks for the heads up Perse.  I thought it was all parts of the cycad.  (Fortunately for us they're not commonly grown down here .. there are advantages in being in the deep south.

Don't know ..may be more parts involved   I do know he ate a seed  and was a very sick boy for a few days ! Today's liver tests gave a very good result !!
