_PL_
https://www.gladstoneobserver.com.au/news/rspca-says-no-to-accepting-more-animals-/3347717/ RSPCA centres across Queensland have received an email ordering them to accept no more cats and dogs until further notice. The email was sent by CEO Mark Townend and confirmed by an RPSCA spokesperson this afternoon. The spokesman told The Observer that regional centres were full, Wacol had a two month waiting period and there were 1440 animals in RSPCA centres across the state. He said the direction was an opportunity for carers to spend more time with the animals currently in care, that needed more help. The direction comes after a statewide Adopt-a-pet push by all RSPCA animal shelters, which sold dogs and cats for just $29 last weekend. The Observer understands Gladstone vets have not been paid by the RSPCA's head office for their services since last November.
Simply Grand
I'm assuming this applies to surrenders, and means either they won't be taking any animals in from the existing wait lists or won't be adding to the wait lists for now.
_PL_
Same. Very likely it applies to the pounds they run as well.

Pounds that they manage on behalf of council, if they are not taking adoptables from the strays and unclaimed pets then either those pets will be PTS under council rules after so may days OR perhaps rescue groups may be offered easily adoptable dogs as well as the elderly, infirm and behavioural issues that are most often offered to rescue from RSPCA(QLD). Well, we can hope can't we? Edited February 28, 2018 by RuralPug

Lhok
The Observer understands Gladstone vets have not been paid by the RSPCA's head office for their services since last November. This above is concerning too, why haven't they paid their vet bill? Seems very odd to me. --Lhok
