Ven
Hi all quick question, we have a 10 week old rescue pup. The rescue place desexed him before we picked him up and he is due to have his stitches out on Monday. today he has decided to try and jump into a mini pool we have for the older dog. My question is, because he still has stitches in, will getting them wet cause any issues ? The wound itself should be healed.
Scrappi&Monty
I think it depends on the stitches. I’d call the rescue or their vet to double check.
sandgrubber
It's worth calling your vet. My vet once told me that 10 days includes a big margin of safety, and in most cases, water won't hurt at a week post surgery (my spayed girl took a swim before day 10). Dogsfevr
Just wipe them with peroxide from the chemist supermarket, perfect world they don’t want wet but not the end of the world
